Star Wars DX Series 01 Kubrick Box of 12 by Medicom
Medicom kicks off the Kubrick Star Wars DX Series 1 this summer with a brand spanking new set of six Star Wars figures inspired by the events in the Star Wars: Return of the Jedi motion picture. Star Wars Kubricks DX Series 01: Box of 12 includes the following:
2x Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight: Clad grey smock and black attire, Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight is equipped with a stray bone from the Rancor’s pit. Following Leia’s attempt, disguised as the Ubese bounty hunter Boushh, to infiltrate Jabba’s palace and rescue the carbonite-frozen Han Solo, Luke Skywalker boldly entered the Hutt’s squalid court. Jabba activated the trapdoor beneath Skywalker, relocating the young Jedi to the gore-strewn pit of the Rancor. Seized by the Rancor’s clawed grasp, the quick-thinking Skywalker wedged a large bone longwise between the monster’s jaws.
3x C-3PO & Salacious B. Crumb: The one-eyed C-3PO is poised with horror as the creepy Crumb sits perched atop his right shoulder. A fun-loving and heart-warming Kowakian monkey-lizard, Salacious Crumb is a general pest and scavenger---imported into Jabba’s court and thusly encouraged to indulge every screwball antagonistic whim that came to mind. Despite Crumb’s diminutive size, he displayed some comparative virility when, in the confusion, he set upon a floundering dismayed C-3PO and went for a quick evisceration. C-3PO was fortunately liberated by R2-D2.
3x R2-D2 (Jabba's Barge): The blue, white and silver R2-D2 is equipped with a serving tray for his tour of duty aboard Jabba’s Barge. R2 was pressed into this humbling duty as the barge hovered within vicinity of the hideous Pit of Carkoon to enable Jabba to watch as Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, aboard the smaller skiff, were hurled into the bilious maw of the Sarlacc. However Jabba is shocked when Skywalker stages an escape. R2-D2, having moved into position, produces Skywalker’s lightsaber, ejecting it across the way into the young Jedi’s grasp.
2x Chewbacca (Boushh's Prisoner): Clad in his familiar bandoleer, Chewbacca is outfitted with wrist shackles. Chewbacca was dragged into Jabba’s court in the custody of the diminutive Ubese bounty hunter, Boushh. Jabba laughs scornfully at fate of the powerful Wookiee, however he is unwilling to pay the bounty demanded by Boushh. In the course of negotiation, Boushh unleashes a thermal detonator. The Hutt is amused by the bounty hunter’s cutthroat sensibilities, and when a price is finally agreed upon the silent Wookiee is transferred into Jabba’s custody.
1x Amanaman: Noteworthy even among the ghastly multi-racial denizens of Jabba’s court, the lanky, sloth-armed Amanaman is colored in murky yellow with greenish-blue markings running the length of his back. A male Amani whose true name was unknown by his fellow denizens, was a bounty hunter present in Jabba’s court during the infiltration of Jabba’s palace by Leia and Luke Skywalker. Hailing from a race of headhunters, Amanaman was equipped with a staff from which dangled the decaying heads of multiple adversaries.
1x Bib Fortuna: Clad in dark billowing robes, Bib Fortuna possesses a leering likeness framed by his serpentine lekku. Expatriated from his own world, Fortuna traveled the underground network, working his way up through sand-crusted sun-blasted Tatooine criminal ranks until he achieved the dubious rank of majordomo to Jabba the Hutt. Being a base and treacherous creature, Fortuna secretly loathed his sluglike employer and merely used his place at Jabba’s side as a staging point to advance his own surreptitious endeavors. However, despite Fortuna’s treachery and guile, he succumbed immediately when confronted by the same Jedi mind tricked that proved ineffective against Jabba himself.
Extra parts are included inside each figure which allows toy fans to create the hulking bulk of Jabba the Hutt. The slug-like form of Jabba rests on a slab of segmented PVC and a hookah pipe sits to his side. Medicom will include a pop-up cardboard display which is designed to look like Jabba's palace in each Master Carton of 4 factory cases. This cardboard display is included only within the Master Carton of 4 factory cases, not in the individual box of 12. Desirable chase figures are also expected to be dispersed randomly inside each Master Carton.
